We are deeply saddened by this loss. Dan was a fixture at our fitness center and we truly enjoyed his company. May God be with you during this time and watch over his little girl.

  Dear Fred and family -

Your dad meant so much to me as I came up at Kettering church. He and Ernestine West led the college Bible study on Sunday mornings. Many (probably most) Sundays, it was just Fred and Ernestine together prepared to teach the lesson, but when college weekends and breaks came, we all came home to sit in on their class; he was a great teacher; we learned valuable life lessons from his Bible teaching. Your dad was such a faithful and devoted leader and teacher to our group. I learned much from him about service to the church and readiness to lead.

I worked with Fred at the Dayton Daily News and loved to hear his stories of his beloved Sevierville. He was one of the fairest people I have ever known, and that translated into balanced, objective reporting, the finest tribute a reporter can receive. Fred also was as well-rounded in his personal life, a rather rare attribute for his generation of journalist.

I worked with Fred at the Journal Herald and never met a nicer individual that him. I can still hear that deep, "Hello, Joe, how are you doing today?" He was a wonderful journalist who cared deeply about the people and communities that he covered. I will miss him dearly. My condolences to the family. Your father was one of a kind. I am grateful for knowing him and for him helping a new reporter like me.

I'll miss my best friend, Stella Underwood.

Stella was my next door neighbor and great, great friend since 1985. I loved fixing her supper and taking it to her...she loved the "menus" I would prepare for her...just for her to get a kick out of them. Stella was a dear friend to me...and my unbiological grandma...she called me her "sweet girl"...Just wanted the family to know...how much I will miss her, words cannot express! Sincerely..Marsha Hayes

Clarence and family, please accept my sincere regrets in the loss of your loved one. I am aware of the illness Suzie has gone through and knowing she lost her battle to cancer. Suzie was a strong person and fought as long as she could. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
With regrets and respect......

No Name

  Kathy,

it has been almost a month since God called you home and I want you to know I miss you very much. I just wish that I had the chance to say goodbye to you before you went to heaven. I did not know you had been sick. I will never forget all the fun times we had. I just wish that it never ended the way it did. I do not worry about you because I know you are in a better place with your mom and dad and Danny. What a joyful reunion that must have been for you to see your family that went before you. You are thought of each and every day and I will never forget you. I love you my dear friend and sister in Christ. You rest in peace Kathy and spread those wings you earned every one of them. I will see you when Jesus calls me home. You will alawys be in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you!!

  To Kathy's immediate family,

I am saddened for your loss. Kathy and I were good friends for a long time and then the last few years we lost touch and I am so sorry that she is gone especially so soon after Jeanette passed on. But God knew how close friends they were and he saw that it was fit for them to go home at the same time. They are both in a wonderful and beautiful place where there is no more sickness and no more death. They are both in a place where the flowers all stay in bloom and they are walking and talking with Jesus. They are having a wonderful reunion and celebrating. They will both be waiting for you to come and be with them and when that time comes they will be greeting you at heaven's pearly gates. God bless you all during this time and always. I am praying for all of you

I was very saddened to hear of Lani's passing. I remember fondly the times we had together in Middleport. I wish I could have seen Lani again. It is so hard for me to believe that she is gone, but truly not forgotten.
