J.C. Ramsey, Jr. of Sevierville went home to be with the Lord, June 7, 2019.
He is preceded in death by son, Justin Ramsey; Mother, Edith Parton Meritt; Step-dad, Tommy Merritt; Father, J.C. Ramsey, Sr.; and Sister, Ruth Maples.
He is survived by wife of 24 years, Regina Lafollette Ramsey; Daughters April Rayfield (Joe) and Penny Brown (Jay); Sons, Deaven Ramsey; Matthew Ramsey; Eric Ramsey; Daniel McCarter (Ciera); and Ben Carper; Special Friends, Della Hurst; Sara Marie Green; Rudy H. (Anna); Chelsey Carlisle; Rev. Verlon Rayfield; Joe Parton; and others. Grandchildren, Johnny McCarter his little buddy; Serenidy King McCarter; Casey Rose; MaKayla; Bethany; Jamie Brown; Christian Rayfield (Cari); Jasmine “Jazzie” Rayfield Newman (Cody); Dylan Ramsey; Kaitlin Ramsey; Madison “Matt Matt” Ramsey; Jayden; CJ; Angel Vinyard; and many others. Great-grandsons, Baby Jayce Newman and Jedidiah “Jedi” Rayfield on the way. Sisters, Kay Cogdill (Cagle) and Jessica Ramsey; Brothers, Mark Ramsey and Jay Ramsey (Jamie); Special Aunt and Uncle, Gertie and Hal Franklin; and many other family members and friends.
He was a Vietnam War Veteran, who was awarded the Purple Heart. Served his community of Sevier County as an engineer/operator for Caton’s Chapel beside Ralph “Red” Huskey, Parrots Chapel Fire Department along with many others.
Visitation will be held at Rawlings Funeral Home, Tuesday June 11, 2019 at 12:00 Noon - 1pm with funeral services at 1pm, Rev. Dustin Shultz and Rev. Danny Sutton Officiating; Family and friends will meet at Webb Creek Cemetery at 3:30 following services. Military Honors by post 104
