Ray Harold Watson, age 73 of Caldwell County, North Carolina, entered the Gates of Glory on Thursday May 23, 2019 at his home in Sevierville Tennessee. Ray “Pawpaw” Watson grew up in Valmead, North Carolina. Where he lived and worked as a Furniture factory worker with his loving wife Martha Magadline Watson, until retirement. He was a loving Grandpa, Father, Brother, and Husband. He was the guiding light in our lives and the threading that stitched us all together. He was a polite Christian man who was always kind to a stranger, found joy in making anyone smile, and spreading as much love as he could. Pawpaw, a devout husband, never skipped a day reminding his wife he loved her. He was a fountain of love and rock of faith and understanding for those around him to lean on. Pawpaw loved his Billiards, Solitaire, Birdfeeders, and his porch swing. He loved purple orange sunsets and every day the Lord Blessed him with. Gospel music filled the halls every morning like clockwork and now he is singing in the Angel Choir. Pawpaw was preceded in death by his Parents, Ernest and Eunice Watson; Step Brothers, Howard and Fred; Step Sisters Dot and Bueller; Daughter Martha Renee Watson.
His Survivors include: Wife of 54 years, Martha Magadline Watson; Son, Ray Sherrill Watson; Daughter, Sheila Ann Watson and husband Gary Lamont Myers; Granddaughter, Kibbie Brook Taylor; Grandsons, Ryan Caleb Watson, Cameron Jake Watson, and Justin Matthew Watson; Great Granddaughter, Willow Watson; Brother, Chester Sherrill Watson and wife Judy; Sister, Wanda Geraldine Watson; Sister-in-law Nadine Wakefield; Brother-in-law, Howard Bently and wife Norma Jean; Niece Kathy Melinda Setzer and husband Junior; Great Niece Kathy Anne Calloway.
The Family will receive friends and family at Swann Plantation on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 2pm to Sunset.
