Obituary

"C.J." Redding (39) Went home on May 19th, 2021 after a yearlong illness of an undetected infection. Clayton James Redding III was born on June 30th, 1981 in Knoxville, TN. C.J. loved the sport of football. He played K-8th with Pigeon Forge Tigers and continued on through his senior year at Gatlinburg Pittman High School. He graduated from GPHS in the class of 1999. C.J. graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology. C.J. was also a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan. C.J.'s greatest gift was his love of life, family, and dear friends. C.J.'s greatest joy was his love for his wife Katie and his children. 

C.J. leaves behind his wife, Katie Michelle (Shuler) Redding, son, Ashton Gage Redding (17) and his mother Brandi Barbour, son Cooper Mac Chambers (10), daughter, Piper Sage Redding (9), son, Dallas Jay Redding (5), daughter, Aubrey Skye Redding (2), mother Barbara Gail Bartlett and Donnie Hale, brother, Colin Patrick Bartlett, father, Clayton James Redding Jr., grandmother Bonnie White, and sister, Amanda Brown. He also leaves behind a very large, extended, loving family, that includes aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a long list of dear friends, he considered family. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mamaw Louise Beinhauer, dad Brett Patrick Bartlett, and grandfather Clayton James Redding Sr.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, May 25th, 2021 at New Hope Church in Kodak, TN. Family and friends will gather from 4-7 pm to share memories of C.J.'s life. Condolences can be made at www.rawlingsfuneralhome.com.
