Donna Claire Blanchard Miller Kinder was born in Buffalo, NY, June 20, 1932. She passed away and went to be with her Lord in her Heavenly Home on December 2, 2021.
Donna attended high school in Olean, NY, and went on to Ohio University. She was a member of Phi Mu and continued her education at F.I.U., then received her Master’s Degree in her late 50s from Florida State University. Donna was a lifetime member of the D.A.R. and MENSA. She wrote the speech for the first Armed Forces Day titled, “Why We Must Stay Prepared.”
Donna worked most of her life with the Florida Board of Education Department. She retired to the Great Smoky Mountains where she enjoyed gorgeous views, spending time with her family and taking care of her beloved animals. Donna was always reading, loved poetry, music and was a great cook.
Donna is survived by her husband of 30 years, Rick J. Kinder; daughter, Paula Claire Miller Krueger (Ottomar); daughter, Nancy Caroline Miller Jones; step-daughter, Tara L. Kinder Marshall (Vince); and grandchildren, Elizabeth Claire Krueger, Chief Petty Officer Christopher Paul Krueger (Nichole), TSgt. Sean Hilliard (Yuri), Joshua Hilliard, Daniel Hilliard (Asia), and step-grandson, Logan D. Marshall; four great grandchildren, Esme Claire Krueger, Jasper Ellis Krueger, Hana Hilliard and Journey Jones.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Lois Keller Blanchard and Don Claire Blanchard, her late husband, Judson Reese Miller, and son-in-law, Zealy Andrew Jones, Sr.
A private ceremony will be held for family and friends at her beloved home on Shell Mountain in TN, where she wished to have her cremains cast.
