Gary Lester Brooks, 77, was called home on March 15, 2021, while surrounded by his family. He was a loving husband, wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved watching his kids and grandkids at sporting events and vacationing with his family at the beach. He enjoyed taking his kids and grandkids to Dollywood and waterparks. Gary accepted Christ into his life at an early age and was selfless and caring towards his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester & Edith Brooks; loving aunts and uncles, Guy & Tinnie Russell, Ave & Ethyl Brooks, Betty Lou, Barbara, Edna.
Survivors include wife, Teresa Brooks; son, David Brooks; daughter, Tracy Brooks Frady (Mark); grandchildren, Seth and Cindy (Wampler) Brooks, Emily Brooks, Owen Brooks, and their mother, Jami Brooks; Taylor Frady, Katelyn Frady; great grandchildren, Steffan Brooks, Amelia Brooks and Cooper Brooks; He is also survived by a host of fun loving cousins and special friends.
Family will receive friends from 2pm till 3pm, Friday, March 19, 2021. Funeral service will follow at 3pm in the chapel of Rawlings Funeral Home. Military graveside service will be 10am on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway. Rev. Dr. Ron Brown officiating.
