James H. Bryant Jr., 73, went to be with his Lord on June 20, 2021 after a long and hard-fought battle with heart failure. Originally from Oxford, Ohio, Jim worked much of his life in Richmond, Indiana making cabinets and being a leader in the Labor movement and the United Way. His last twenty years he spent happily and gratefully with his wife Shirlee in Kodak, Tennessee enjoying their mountain home. He was a faithful member of Luretta United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School, led outreach efforts and often preached. He was a proud father and grandfather; loved playing golf, watching UT Football, playing cards and laughing with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Shirlee Bryant; son, Rev. James Christopher Bryant (Kara) of Ringgold, Georgia; daughter, Anita Bryant of Hamilton, Ohio; six grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brother, John Handley (Dedei) of Richmond, Indiana; sister, Inez Johnson (Bill) of Lakeland, Florida; step children, Valerie Kanady (Rob) of Sevierville, Tennessee, Junior Albertson (Joan) of Kodak, Tennessee, Ernie Albertson (Melissa) of Richmond, Indiana; several nieces.
Visitation will be held on June 24, 2021 at 1pm ~ 3pm at Rawlings Funeral Home with services following at 3pm led by Rev. Chris Bryant and Rev. Fred Heard. Procession to Middle Creek Cemetery to follow. Condolences can be made at www.rawlingsfuneralhome.coms
