Newell went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday September 29, 2021.
He was proceeded in death by his father and mother Rev. Stanley and Gladys Ogle, 4 infant siblings, his grandparents Ezra and Odi Ogle and Eva Treadaway; Uncles Lester, Loyd and Muncie Ogle; Aunts Alma Ogle, Anna Mae Carver, Edna Berry, Naomi Burke and Lou Ogle; Brothers-in-laws Orville Ayers and Johnny Webb; Sister-in-law Glenda Treadaway; Father and mother in laws Otto and Mae Webb.
He is survived by his only child Rebecca Lucinda Ogle and the love of his life Ruby Mae Webb Ogle.
He was born in North Carolina but moved to Upper Middle Creek at a very young age. He retired from the Sevier County Highway Department. He loved restoring antique cars and trucks and attended many car shows in town with his daughter and close friends. He loved restoring and painting classic cars and Volkswagens. He enjoyed teaching younger folks how to work on cars and trucks. Newell always had a joke or a story to tell and never met a stranger.
He was of Baptist faith and belonged to Covemont Baptist Church in Wears Valley.
His nephew Rev. Kevin Treadaway will officiate the graveside service.
Williamsburg Cemetery on Upper Middle Creek Road on Tuesday October 5, 2021 at 4:30PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family for funeral expenses.
