Steven Michael Stolte (Steve)

Steven Michael Stolte, 48, of Sevierville, TN (formerly of Lovington, IL) passed away on October 6, 2020, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Steve was born August 9, 1972 in Decatur, IL to Patricia Jenkins & Edward Stolte. He married Lisa F. Ledbetter on February 14, 1992 and she survives in Sevierville, TN.
Steve was a 1990 graduate of Lovington High School. He was the Chief of Police for several years for the Lovington Police Department. Later, he went on to serve several more years for the Shelbyville & Decatur Ambulance Services until health issues forced him into early retirement.
Steve was a loving husband, brother, father and grandfather. He loved riding his Harley, taking trips to Cades Cove, spending time with his grandchildren and working for Dolly Parton.
In addition to his wife, Steve leaves behind three children, Audrey (Bobby) Gipson of Knoxville, Michael Stolte and Christopher Stolte both of Sevierville, TN; seven grandchildren; parents: Patricia (Chuck) Jenkins of Decatur, IL, Duane Stolte, Duane (Mary) Stolte of Blue Mound, IL; grandmother: Betty Crutchfield of Lake City, IL; brothers: Joseph Stolte (Brittany C) of Lakewood, IL & Heath Stolte (DeAnna) of Macon, IL; sisters: Michelle (Tyler) Nottingham of Blue Mound, IL; Athena (Daniel) Spiker of Blue Mound, IL; Tina Weakley of Decatur, IL; Kendra Jenkins of Lake City, IL; Kara Jenkins of Lake City, IL; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and his “super, awesome best friend and ambulance partner” Doug Welton.
Steve was preceded in death by dad: Thomas (Tommy) Crutchfield; one brother: Bill “Bub” Weakley; grandparents: Ella Jean and Herman Stolte, William Weybright, Donald Crutchfield.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday October 15, 2020 noon at Wears Valley Park.
