Willie Bates Bryan Jr

November 26, 1932 ~ May 24, 2021 (age 88)

W.B. Bryan Jr, Age 88 was called home by Jesus Tuesday, May 24, 2021, surrounded by family, in his lifelong Wears Valley home in Sevier County Tn.

W.B. was a pillar of the Wears Valley community and a well-respected and dearly loved elder member and Deacon of Valley View Baptist Church where he shared his passion for children’s ministry. W.B. looked forward to Valley View’s annual Bible School, where he worked faithfully each year as long as his health permitted.  He loved his church and loved his family but above all, W.B. loved Jesus and his life was a living testimony of Jesus’ command to love one another.  In W.B’s last hours, his final instruction was “do what’s right and have love, one for another”. W. B. never met a stranger and with his infectious smile, he is called “friend” by many.

W.B. is now reunited with precious loved ones he longed to see; his parents, Will and Ethel Bryan, the love of his life, Ina Trentham Bryan, infant son Clifford Lynn, and beloved granddaughter, Brooke Bryan Sampson who called him “Pappy”.  Left behind to carry on his legacy and fill his big shoes are his two sons, Willie Bryan (wife Michele) and Burton Bryan (wife Wanda) along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren and many, many friends and extended family, too numerous to mention. Special friends, Joe Ogle and Carroll Chance.

W.B. Bryan lived life to the fullest, worked hard and loved deep.  To know him was to love him. To lose him is to miss him.

Family will receive friends Thursday, May 27 4-7pm at Valley View Baptist Church in Wears Valley.

Funeral to immediately follow at 7pm Officiated by Dr. Preston Joslin.  Special music; Valley View Choir, Ray Ball and Carol Ann Vaughn.  Burial will be Friday morning at 10am in Valley View Cemetery.
